The Drive-Thru Presented By The Carolina Classic Fair

The Carolina Classic Fair has redesigned the fair experience for 2020. Due to COVID-19, the Carolina Classic Fair was canceled. Food Day at the Fair annually brought in over 70,000 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Crisis Control Ministry food pantries. With the cancelation of the fair, Crisis Control Ministry is excited to partner with The Drive-Thru presented by the Carolina Classic Fair on October 1-4, 2020, from 11 AM – 7 PM. The Drive-Thru is an opportunity for fair fans to indulge in their favorite fair food and enjoy an entertaining “ride” and “game” all from the safety of their vehicle.
“There will also be merchandise, a virtual exhibit of agriculture, livestock, food, and more,” said Cheryle Hartley, the Carolina Classic Fair Director. People are encouraged to bring 5 non-perishable food donations to benefit Crisis Control Ministry’s food pantry in Winston-Salem and Kernersville. As attendees drive through the fairgrounds, Crisis Control Ministry will be set up to accept food donations. Volunteers and staff from Crisis Control Ministry will greet attendees with gloves and masks on to accept the donations. People can roll down their window and drop the food into the bins. “Our goal is to provide a safe donation drop-off experience,” said Abbey Riesett, Special Events & Marketing Manager at Crisis Control Ministry.
Corporal Brad Mullins with the Winston-Salem Police Department will join Crisis Control Ministry at The Drive Thru on certain days to showcase the 2020 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab truck that will be raffled off at the Second Annual Battle of the Badges Charity Softball Tournament to benefit Crisis Control Ministry on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Truck raffle tickets are available for purchase at https://www.crisiscontrol.org/news-events/events.html.
The Drive-Thru will also host Drive-In Movies on October 2nd and 3rd starting at 7:05 PM and 9:15 PM. There will be a 15-minute firework show in between the movies. To learn more about The Drive-Thru and the Drive-In Movies, visit CarolinaClassicFair.com.
