This is the most wonderful facility I?ve ever visited. Even though I was in need of help, I really felt as though I could hold my head up. Once I saw how they let you shop for your own goods instead of merely throwing together some items for you, I didn?t feel so bad. This is great. Please don?t stop the good work. I left out with my head held high. They gave me back some of my self esteem. I know everything will be alright. Annonymous |

Words can never express my gratitude for the assistance you provided for my family and I. Thank you so much for allowing God to use your hands to provide for his own. I would like to say a special thanks to Sandy, Judy and Paul for assisting me. May God continue to bless Crisis Control Ministry. |

On October 7, 1998, I was awakened by the sound of my mother?s voice, only to realize I was in a hospital room. I had been in a car accident two days earlier that had put me in a coma with life-threatening head injuries. A teenage driver ran a red light hitting my car on the driver?s side. After that day my life has never been the same. The hospital bills and the doctor bills are unreal. I thought this could never happen to me. I was just 30 years old. It was like waking up in a different world: a world full of never-ending pain, anger, frustration, confusion, everything that comes with being disabled in the prime of your life. At first the company I was working for helped pay for my medication, but after a year I got a letter saying that my benefits had been cut off. I found other health insurance but still needed help with my prescriptions. I was talking to a friend at church who told me to go to Crisis Control Ministry. I don?t know what I would do without the help of Crisis Control Ministry. I can?t explain what it means to have a friend like Crisis Control in today?s world where people think only just of themselves and don?t care about others. |

Nancy Benson* came to Crisis Control Ministry one cold day in February. In addition to the required documents, Nancy clutched two additional papers. One was a police report. The other was a note from her son's doctor. Nancy's son Tommy* is seven. Tommy has severe disabilities which require Nancy's full-time care. Their total monthly income is $535.00 from Social Security. Nancy was able to make ends meet until her purse containing January's income was stolen while Tommy was a patient at Brenner's Children's Hospital. Because she had no income for January, Nancy was unable to pay her phone or heating bills. The gas had been off at her home for two weeks. Tommy's doctor would not release him from the hospital until they again had heat. Nancy came to ask us for assistance paying her past bill and for help with a new gas deposit. Crisis Control was able to pay the family's $67.00 bill as well as the new gas deposit for $136.36 so that Tommy could come home from the hospital. We also provided Nancy with a week's worth of groceries. Nancy left with tears of gratitude rolling down her cheeks. We had been her last hope. * names changed |
